A Collaborative Artwork for the Maison Poincaré: Nudos y Afectos II

On March 26, 2026, Les Céramistes workshop welcomed Fonds IHP for a shared creative session centered on the artwork conceived by Rocio Guerrero and Dario Alatorre. Fifteen participants : including students from CY School of Design, donors to the IHP Fund, and several external guests, came together to explore the world of knots and contribute to a collective artwork destined for the Maison Poincaré. The group brought a wide range of experience: some participants already had a background in ceramics, while others were discovering the medium for the very first time.
Before moving on to the hands-on work, the artists offered a captivating introduction tracing the origins of knots, their definitions, and the diversity of their forms. This contextual overview, at the intersection of art, mathematics, and symbolism, provided participants with valuable insights and enabled everyone to approach the creative process with a deeper understanding.
Each participant then crafted their own ceramic knot, a unique piece that would become part of the larger installation. A remarkable variety of knots emerged: some participants followed their own inspiration, while others chose to work from the models proposed by Rocio and Dario.
Following the workshop, Rocio Guerrero and Dario Alatorre devoted several days to assembling the artwork. They carefully mounted the ceramic knots onto an aluminum panel and carried out a pictorial intervention designed to represent the connections linking the various forms, bringing unity and coherence to the final composition.
Created for the temporary exhibition “Creation: Between Art and Mathematics,” this artwork was installed on a wall of the Maison Poincaré on April 3, 2026, marking the culmination of a collective process in which each participant’s contribution found its place within the whole. Unlike the exhibition itself, the artwork will remain on permanent display.
