The Project in a Few Words

On October 10, 2017, the IHP Endowment Fund partnered with the Institute’s library to launch its first crowdfunding campaign, Math Mon Modèle. The goal was to raise funds to restore the exceptional collection of mathematical models preserved in the library. The campaign was hosted on the Commeon platform, where all written and audiovisual materials produced by the library team, the campaign’s lead organizers, can be found.

Over the seven-week campaign, 175 donors contributed, raising €26,597 against an initial goal of €15,000. Thanks to these donations, at least 25 models could be restored and displayed to the public during the Gaston Darboux exhibition in autumn 2018. They later joined the Maison des Mathématiques.

The campaign served a dual purpose for the IHP and its Endowment Fund: not only funding the preservation of a scientific and artistic heritage, but also raising awareness of the IHP, its resources, and the future Maison Poincaré, thereby expanding its circle of supporters.
