The project in a few words

On October 10, 2017, IHP Endowment Fund partnered with the institute's library to launch the first crowdfunding campaign, Math mon modèle. The goal was to raise funds to restore the exceptional collection of mathematical models kept at the library. The campaign was relayed on the Commeon platform (shut down recently) where all the written and audiovisual documents produced by the library's team and the campaign's project manager, can be found.

After 7 weeks of campaign, 175 donors were mobilized to raise 26 597€ for an initial objective of 15 000€. Thanks to these donations, at least 25 models have been restored and presented to the public for the Gaston Darboux exhibition held in the fall of 2018. They will then join the Maison Poincaré in 2023.

This campaign had two ambitions for IHP and its Endowment Fund: not only to finance an action of preservation of a scientific and artistic heritage, but also to make known IHP, its resources, the future Maison Poincaré by widening its Cercle des Amis (circle of friends) !
