Creating an engaged community


Through its Endowment Fund, IHP aims to build a community of private donors united around projects that combine scientific discovery, education and innovation. Each donor is considered a full-fledged actor in the projects supported by the IHP Endowment Fund. The help of donors is precious because without them, no project could be born. 
 

Fundraising

Thanks to the support of numerous donors, IHP works to disseminate scientific culture in society, including to non-specialists and even those who are far from science, and to create bridges between science and the economic and industrial sectors. Particular attention is paid to teaching and education, with a view to awakening vocations for the sciences and especially mathematics. It also promotes equal opportunities by carrying out actions in favor of disadvantaged youth. 
The projects supported by the Fund also help to promote scientific culture and heritage.

The contribution of companies is part of sponsorship agreements in financing, equipment and / or skills, eligible for the reduction of corporate tax (IS in France).

Individuals can make their contribution through direct donations or through participatory funding campaigns. In both cases, donations are eligible for income tax reduction (IR in France).

 

- French companies :

  • up to 60% of the amount of the donation is deductible from the corporate tax: within the limit of €10,000 or 0.5‰ of the turnover excluding tax. 
  • you will be invited to the actions financed by the Fund (symposiums, conferences, exhibitions,...) and receive extra gifts (up to 25% of the amount of your donation).

- French residents : 

  • benefit from a reduction in their income tax (IR) equal to 66% of the value of their donation.
  • you will be invited to the actions financed by the Fund (symposiums, conferences, exhibitions,...) and receive extra gifts (up to 25% of the amount of your donation).

 

- US of Hong Kong companies and residents : join the "American Friends of Paris House of Math" or the Hong Kong Friends Fund to make tax-deductible gifts to IHP and The Maison Poincaré. 


 

The Endowment Fund in a few words...

It has the capacity to receive funds exclusively from the private sector from individuals or legal entities whose passions are in line with those of the Institut Henri Poincaré.

 

The Fund's Board of Directors was chaired by Cédric Villani from its inception until March 7, 2019, when Sylvie Benzoni took over as interim Chair. Vincent Lefieux, representing the Cercle des entreprises partenaires de l'IHP on the Board of Directors, was elected President on May 29, 2019.
Through the Endowment Fund, companies and individuals can support the projects carried out by IHP by making financial, in-kind or skill-based contributions.

Eligible for corporate or income tax reductions, these contributions complement state and local funding of IHP projects.

 

The founding organizations of the Fund : CNRS, Sorbonne University (formerly UPMC), and three learned societies in mathematics - the Société Mathématique de France (SMF), the SMAI (Société des Mathématiques Appliquées et Industrielles), the SFdS (Société Française de Statistiques).
