For Chapter 4 of the Maison Poincaré crowdfunding campaign Math in a Different Way, we take you to meet a secret society of mathematicians, Nicolas Bourbaki, whose aim was (and still is) to reinvent the teaching of mathematics.
The famous “portable” blackboard of Nicolas Bourbaki will be exhibited in the “Sharing” space of the Maison Poincaré, and a replica will be installed in the museum garden, inviting visitors and mathematicians to do math in the open air!
This blackboard blended perfectly into the setting of the IHP library: nestled between the famous mathematical models and the exhibition Jean Perrin, a Work, a Legacy, presented until spring 2021.
