Maison Poincaré : start the visit ! (1/3)

At the Maison Poincaré, visitors can explore the many facets of mathematics across nearly 600 m², following a self-guided route or accompanied by educators.

This journey is organized around seven action verbs:

CONNECT, BECOME, SHARE, INVENT, MODEL, VISUALIZE, and BREATHE.

EIn 2020, we shared some general information about these setups: innovative and educational, they were designed to highlight the richness of the worlds in which mathematics thrives.

In the CONNECT space, visitors can explore mathematical questions using everyday objects (balloons, bicycle wheels, suitcases, etc.), moving from one mathematical domain to another with the help of a “math metro” map, modeled after a subway plan!

In an upcoming article, we will take you through the INVENT and BECOME spaces to introduce the mathematicians who will be highlighted there. Stay tuned!

Throughout 2021, we will keep you updated on the progress of the exhibits’ design and the layout of the spaces.
