In this article, discover the contents of the SHARE and BREATHE spaces at the Maison Poincaré!

The SHARE space, formerly the tea room, will be a meeting place for researchers and the public. It will feature a map illustrating how mathematics has been practiced and shared across ages and cultures; an installation presenting, through illustrations, the experiences of researchers; and a “formula whisperer,” showcasing formulas—from the most famous to more recent ones—selected both for their aesthetic value and the meaning they convey.

This space will also be where mathematics meets art. In particular, a selection of models from the IHP collection will be displayed.

Its heritage character will be preserved.

After visiting the different spaces of the Maison Poincaré, you will be able to take some time to exchange ideas outdoors with the researchers present, in the garden of the Maison Poincaré (the BREATHE space).
A replica of the famous Bourbaki portrait, whose original will be displayed in the SHARE space, may serve as a springboard for conversation, awakening the mathematician that lies dormant in each of you!

In the course of your outdoor conversation, your eye will inevitably be drawn to the symbol of the Maison Poincaré, the Grand Rulpidon, whose monumental size will allow you to “touch” the beauty of mathematics with your fingertips.
